Install a Posiflex PP-8000 B Printer (USB)
NOTE: This demo was installed in the Windows Vista operating system environment. The actual screen images seen during installation may be different from the screen shots.

PLEASE VERIFY THAT THE PRINTER'S USB IS NOT CONNECTED TO THE COMPUTER
STEP 1: Navigate to "http://spos.securenet.com/".
STEP 2: In the "SecurePOS Accessories", select “Posiflex Printer” and click “Download Driver”.

STEP 3: The Posifex website will open where the actual driver will be downloaded from (as shown in the image below).

**DOWNLOADING THE VIRTUAL COM PORT USB DRIVER**
STEP 4: In the “Please choose a category” drop down list, select “Receipt Printers”, “PP8000U (USB)”, “USB Drivers”, and “WIN2K / WINXP / WEPOS / POS Ready”.
NOTE: Refer to the image below to verify the correct items were selected.

STEP 5: At the bottom of the middle box click “Download” (shown in the image above).
STEP 6: The “File Download” window will display.
STEP 7: Save the file to the desktop and click the “Save” button. The Zip file will begin to download.
NOTE: Click the "Allow" button if the Internet Explorer Security window opens.
NOTE: User may need to download a product to unzip and extract files ("http://www.pkware.com/software-data-security/free" or any other unzip product may be used.)


NOTE: A zip file icon looks like the image below. When the file is extracted it looks like a normal folder icon.

STEP 8: Click “Extract Files”. Another folder will be created on the desktop with the same folder name (not a zip file icon as shown above).
**DOWNLOADING THE WINDOWS DRIVER**
STEP 9: To download the "Windows Driver", navigate back to the Posiflex website and click the “Receipt Printers”, “PP8000U (USB)”, “Windows Drivers”, and “WIN2K / WINXP / WEPOS / POS Ready”.
STEP 10: At the bottom of the middle box, click “Download”.

STEP 11: The File Download window will display. Save the file to the desktop and click the “Save” button. The Zip file will begin to download.
STEP 12: Right-click on the file and select "Extract files" and click "OK".
NOTE: Two (2) new folder icons should have been created on the Desktop.
POWER ON THE PRINTER AND PLUG THE USB IN ONE OF THE USB PORTS.
STEP 13: Click "Locate and install this driver software (recommended)".

STEP 14: If the driver is found and the following message appears, "The Software for this device has been successfully installed : Posiflex PP8000 USB Device", proceed to STEP 18.
NOTE: If the driver software is not found, the following message will appear, "Found New Hardware - Unknown Device", click "Browse my computer for driver software (advanced)".

STEP 15: Click the "Browse" button.

STEP 16: In the "Browse For driver software on your computer" data field, navigate to the desktop, select the "PP8000U_USB_WXPWEP" folder and click "OK".
STEP 17: Click the "Next" button when the selected folder is displayed in the data field.
NOTE: Click "install this driver anyway" if the Windows Security window opens.

NOTE: The Installing driver software window will appear.

STEP 18: Click the "Close" button when The software for this device has been successfully installed window opens.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW THE COM PORT NUMBER YOUR DEVICE IS ON. TO LOCATE THE COM NUMBER OF YOUR DEVICE, CLICK OR GO TO Locating the COM Port Number.
THE COM NUMBER WILL BE LISTED NEXT TO THE DEVICES NAME, "POSIFLEX PP8000 USB DEVICE COM #" (SHOWN BELOW FOR INSTRUCTION PURPOSES THE COM IS COM11)

STEP 19: Go to the desktop and click the Start Menu | Control Panel.

STEP 20: Double-click on the "Printers" Icon.

STEP 21: In the Printers window, click "Add a printer" on the menu bar.

STEP 22: Select "Add a local printer" option.

STEP 23: The Add Printer window displays "Use an existing port" as the default (select "Use an existing port" if not already selected) and select the COM number (this device is setup on COM11) the device was setup on above

STEP 24: Click "Next".

STEP 25: Select "Posiflex PP8000 Partial Cut v3.01" and click the "Next" button.

STEP 26: "Replace the current driver" should be the default, click the "Next" button.

NOTE: A window will display "A test page has been sent to your printer" the test page will be printed out.

After the installation has been completed, plug the device in. To verify the printer is installed in SecurePOS™, go to Enable a Specific Printer.
